Evaluation of Exogenous Salicylic Acid Application on White Mould Disease and Photosynthetic Pigments in Lettuce

The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness salicylic acid (SA) treatment against white mould disease (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum) (SS) in lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) plant. In study, two cultivars (Melina and Fuzila) were used four treatments applied plants (control, SS, SA, +SA+SS treatments). Weight (g), number marketable leaf per plant, non-marketable ratio (%), relative water content chlorophyll parameters (chlorophyll a, b total (mg 100g-1), colour (L, a b) severity (%) determined. According results, SA increased weight (563.65 g plant-1 for cv. Melina 574.67 leaves (26.83 plant 31.33 whereas it decreased (8.66 6.67 both cultivars.
